Is it okay to use a self etching primer to bare metal, then an epoxy primer over that.

Yes, but only after the etching primer has fully cured. Etching primer contains acid which can react with the coatings applied over them if they are put on too soon.

At our shop,we use this epoxy primer/sealer from Keystone Automotive.We use it on bare metal with good results.http://www.keystone-auto.com/bodyshops/msds-sheets.htmlIts a 3 part primer and mixes 4:1:1,4 parts primer,1 part reducer,1 part activator.Use a mask when spraying this stuff,its very nasty =\.hope this helps

tcpglobal or Eastwood carries several brands of Epoxies if you dont have any autobody supply local for ya.......

I have RM EP789 in the shop right now...(mixes 4-1-1).
