Okay; here's my OTHER Valiant, a 1972 4-door (got it for a hundred dollars; you can forgive 2 more doors for that... LOL!

Origainally, a 318 P/s, P-B, AC car. I have retained the power brakes and power steering, but got rid of the air conditioning.

I added an A-body 8.76" rear end. It is now a 4.10 Sure Grip with Moser axles.

I installed a 360 Magnum out of a 198 Durango, changing the cam to a Hugherperformance hydraulic roller with mild duration )214/218 @ .050"-lift. It is ground with 115-degrees of lobe separation. Has .525" lift.

A Voretch V-1, S-trim centrifugal supercharger provides the air flow, with 10 pounds of boost. It makes 445 rear-wheel hp.

A blow-thru 750 dp handles the fuel mixing, with an MSD Boost Timing Master retard unit handling the spark. It has a stock Mopar electronic distributor.
A 904 T-flite with stock gearing delivers the power through 7290 U-joints.

It weighs 3,340 pounds with no driver.
90-10 shocks on the front and 50-50s in the back help it find bite...
9"-wide, 28"-tall Mickey Thompson bias-ply slicks are used.
TTI step headers and tailpipes are used (2.5" pipes in back.)

It runs low 11's @ about 118. Maybe just half a step ahead of our slant six car....MAYBE... LOL!

But, it's mainly a street car.

Here is what IT looks like...
And yes, the spare WILL come out... LOL!

I love this car :prayer:

Well, I'm glad SOMEBODY loves it. because after having the float bowls off the carburetor about twenty times (no exaggeration!) our original lust for horsepower is turning into frustration F_A_S_T.... The mixture shown on our F.A.S.T. wideband A/F meter is right for boost, but wrong for cruise.... then, it's right for cruise and wrong for boost (an engine-killing combination) then it's wrong for both.... never right for both!

This s.o.b. better run!!!!!!!!!!!!!disgust

Dang ....i love this one ....i just love the crisp lines and boxy style of the 67-72 :love4::love4:

Here's my blank canvas!

It doesn't look like much, but it is unmolested, original paint, etc.

It's going to get a quenched high compression \6 build. Either 10:1 or 12:1 depending on the combustion chamber geometry. If the 12:1 version is built it will run with water methanol injection to allow 93 octane pump gas usage.

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=233140

8 3/4" W/4.10-4.30-4.56 depending on the power band & tire size. OE disc brakes conversion on the front.

I want to build a N/A \6 that can rip off a 12.99 when conditions are right & run solid 13.5s under average conditions.

A 150 shot of N2O will liven things up for the occasional low 12/high 11 pass.

Lots of work to do!

nice little project man! kewl!

At the risk of over-saturating FABO (these pictures have graced these cyber-pages many times) I'll post them since you asked.

Two Valiants: First is the more interesting one, I think, because it is AA/Different...

'64 Valiant V-200 more-door (we couldn't find a 2-door)

Turbocharged 225 1964 motor
Ported head with 1.75"/1.5" valves, not milled
Wiseco 3.065" pistons/K1 198-length forged rods, ARP 220,000-psi head studs;crank turned .010"/.010"
Cam by Bullet with .484"-lift (1.5:1 rockers,) 210/210 duration @ .050"-lift, ground on 115-degree lobe centers
Homemade header, Aussie long-runner intake (wrong for this enine, I think.)
Holley 750 double pumper, blow-thru carb
Snowperformance BoostCooler Stage I alcohol injector
Spearco 550hp-capable air-to-air intercooler
Chrysler distributor with a locked plate and no vacuum advance mechanism
18 degrees of spark advance
Deep pan, baffled
10 pounds of boost so far (we are newbies at this and are starting out small.)
904 tranny with mods (2.74 geared 1st geat; reverse-pattern manual valve body)
3500 rpm stall Hughes converter
2,670 pounds without driver
8.75" rear end with 3.55 Sure Grip gearing Yukon axles
Hoosier 15"-diameter, 26:-tall, 9"-wide slicks, bias-ply
90/10 shocks in the front; 50.50 in the back
Cal Tracs
7290 U-joints
6-point Roll bar welded in
8-gallon fuel cell
Walbro fuel pump
Aeromotive fuel presssure regulator
3/8" fuel and 1/2"-return lines
9:1 measured static compression
cold NGK plugs

This engine is a close copy of Tom Wolfe's engine. He is a MUCH better horsepower wrangler than we are, so we don't expect our engine to perform anything like his, but his makes approximately 500 horsepower, going 11-flat @ 120 in a 3,400-pound car into a 15mph headwind.

If we can gat 400hp out of this bucket of bolts, we'll be really, really happy! That would give us quarter-mile times in the 11.30s @ about 118mph.

That's a lot easier to say than it is to do, however, and saying it doesn't make it true! Talk is cheap... we'll see.

This has been a 4-year project for us and it is finally about to be ready for the drag strip.

Anyway, here's some pix...

I have learned that any car can be cool if the owner has taste and knows what to do to make it cool. So many cars have potential, it is just the creativity and cleverness of the owner that makes it that way. Sometimes it is just the attention to detail...

The 63 that got away to assist me in building my home on the hill :banghead:
But MAN did that little 225 move,It was surprisingly fast :burnout:
