Fixing up an old 69 Valiant and am going to change the differential fluid. It is an 8 1/4 with 323 gears. When doing a burn out, both wheels spin, but when I checked with one wheel off ground it appears to be an open rear end. What fluid should I use and do I need a limited slip additive?

Clutches wearing?Yes add the limited slip additive when changing rearend fluid.

jack both wheels off the ground. spin one and the other should spin the same direction if it's a limited slip.

Transmission must be in neutral for this.
