Hi, I'm going to be putting a set of Mopar Performance valve covers on my 340 with an LD340 intake. I'm being told I'm going to have to notch the valve covers to seal them. I was wondering if a thicker or double gasket would solve this issue without notching the valve covers. Has anyone tried this? What gaskets do you recommend?
Thanks

FEL-PRO 1646. double thickness cork with a steel core...always had luck with them, and on thicker valve covers, they provide better clearance to the intake.

I ground down the little lumps on the intake so they would clear on mine ,didn't want to grind on new valve covers.

I ground the covers...but since all I had to do was to make elongated U-shaped cut-outs and that was just to the outside lip it actually fit really well with the intake...make a nice job of it and you won't even notice!
