Does anyone know why these valve covers are shaped like this on each end? Is it for a/c and power booster clearance ?

definitely for clearance but I like how the breather and PVC are in the center and are in a raised area.

They are like that to clear something on the firewall so they could be removed.
I just don't remember what it was, but it seems like it was only on certain cars.

I had a set that were NIB Direct Connection valve covers Just like those, I also had a set that were DC chrome without the corners knocked off.
I think I still have one that had a bad chrome job as most weren't great back then, probably made in Taiwan.

Don't think so, maybe more like a firewall protrusion or something, but I can't seem to pull it up.
