I purchased this head gasket set when I was replacing the springs on my 273 and the valve seals that came with set seem to be too large on the bottom. The diameter is much larger than the old ones but the actual hole that the stem pokes through is nice and tight. Is this supposed to be the case on new seals or did I get a one size fits all type of seal?

The look like umbrella seals and not the ones the sit snug on the guide.

yeah, they look like plastic bottle caps? Umbrella, they just cling to valve stem and bob up and down. IIRC the ones that snap down onto the guides need a machined lip to wrap around. You usually find about 15 of them in pieces down in the pan after a teardown.
