1. No, you will need machine work to fit dual springs.

2. Maybe, on any cam with over .475 valve lift, spring retainer clearance will need to be checked.

3. Yes, springs can be changed with the head on but you'll need the right spring compressor and a compressed air source with the right hose fitting.
 

I believe the heads need the step machined off the guides and cut to fit the inner diameter of the inner spring., also check retainer to guide clearance, you'll have/want to cut the guides down shorter and without guide machining could run the regular umbrella seals, but better off machining to .500 for positive seals.

and check how the springs fit on the retainers, if too loose, get matching retainers as well.
