On my 65 valiant 100, the lower vent window pivot chrome trim is badly pitted
Is this part removable and if it is, how hard of a job?
thanks all

Yes. It's sort of involved, but can be knocked out in an afternoon.

1. Pull trim panel off of door.
2. Remove window from regulator mechanism
3. Remove "fuzzy strips" from door where the window passes through. Care must be taken not to destroy these things unless you plan to replace. They are easy to bend, tough to straighten.
4. Along forward edge of the door frame, locate three phillips head screws. Remove them.
5. Go along underside of door until a large hole is located. In most cases there is a large plastic plug in it. If so, remove the plug.
6. You will need a deep well socket to reach the nut on the screw that is visible through the hole. Remove nut.
7. At this point, the vent is being held in place by interference fit. Pull the vent back from the forward part of the door.
8. Wiggle and twist the assembly until it comes free.
9. The vent assembly will look like the one below. The pivoting vent window
is held on by a small plate secured by a phillips screw.
