I have a 74 Valiant and the vent window is loose in the lower pivot channel. This is the chrome part that holds the glass and has the latch at the front that you rotate and pull to rotate the vent window open. The glass is so loose, I can unfasten the upper pivot and take the window right out. How are these kept in place? A gasket or seal? It looks like there remains of a gasket in the channel. When I search for a gasket, I don’t find any. Were these held in with some type of glue? Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks
Pat

The pivot is held in place by a small bracket in the frame. Yours is either broken or the securing screw is missing. You will need to disassemble to inspect.

If the '74 is the same as '70 there is a small metal bracket that goes around the lower pivot shaft and is held by a screw. The shaft has a small roll pin in it that gets captured by the metal bracket so it can't be pulled up.
