Anyone use these bathroom sinks that sit atop the counter? They were popular a few years ago for some reason. Just a passing fad or practical? Thank you.

They were popular because they look neat. The fad passed because cleaning around the damn thing sucks.
 
Not practical. As someone else mentioned, cleaning is one issue. I don't like them because the rim sits up considerably higher than standard counter height, so it makes washing your hands and face somewhat awkward, if not nearly impossible depending on your height and mobility. I was living in a house that had them when I tore my rotator cuff and I had to use the kitchen sink instead for the first couple months.
 
When I saw the post I thought, "some C4 below the water line might do a good job".:rofl:
