Nope. You did good. If your 850 is an 850 with 1.5xx Venturi and 1.750 throttle blades you have an 850.

I forget the dimensions of the 950 but the Venturi is smaller on those.
Don't most of the 950s actually flow only around 830? Seems like I remember readin that somewhere.

I have a Victor 340 intake, with a HVH 4 hole tapered 4500 to 4150 2 inch Super Sucker adapter, with a 4 hole,1/4 inch Carb Cooler plate between the carb and adapter.

I don't think I've ever seen a carb cooler plate.

Funny story, on a friends 408” small block pump gas 10:1, hydraulic flat tappet cam, small cam, with edelbrock single plane manifold, we put my dads Holley 8896 1050 dominator on it with an adapter to 4150. Car never ran better.

Have You ever dealt with 4-Weber IDA/IDF's or Autolite inline 4bbl. setups?

I have not. But I’ve got many hours tuning stack injected engines and the best way to trim 30-50 hp off a good engine is stack injection.

It’s a PITA and it kills power.

That’s how I ended up with a tunnel ram and two flying toilets.

Thats very easy to believe. I’ve seen that many times.

In fact, in 1984 a guy that worked at the local speed shop dropped a Dominator on a 454 Impala and everyone laughed at him saying the same old nonsense about it being too much carb.

It took him about 15 passes across a few nights but the car was consistently .2 better. And that was 1984.

Thanks, I'm working on an intake concept, it won't be a dedicated IR setup........ the owner is anti-EFI, & will not modify the hood in any way, so here I am...

When I have a full-size rough draft I'll snap some pics.
Lets say....4 small plenums on a crossram style layout, with tunable balance/crossovers, & active barrels that can isolate then expose each runner-to-throttle bore...that's just for starters....

Yep, TWO 750s! But I will swear to you that the ThermoQuad on my 400 Newport had 2500CFM secondarys!

Just based off of venturi to blades, the 1050 dominator is the best carb in the world, as it is already annular booster, with that relatively small venturi vs 2 inch blades....they pull hard .
Wish I had another for my tunnel ram
I started racing my 415 Gen 3 hemi stroker on a Pro Systems 1050 Dominator. After 3 years I decided I didn't like swapping jets at the track and switched to a Holley Sniper 4500 EFI.
I couldn't find anyone who would chassis dyno it for me so I had to try to let the learn function tune it for me. It took years, lots of entry fees and lost rounds before I finally got it consistent enough to run my dial and win rounds. It would have been a lot cheaper and faster to trailer it 300-500 miles to a competent tuner and pay what they were asking for the dyno tune. Now I love it, but back then I was cussing that thing every time I went to the track. I held onto the Dominator for a few years, then wound up selling it at a swap meet for way less than it was worth.
