VIN and Fender Tag questions...

Hello,
I am not familiar with how the numbers are supposed to match up on the early cars. I have a 65 Dart and am curious. I have a fender tag that partially matches a stamping on the core support but these numbers do not coincide with the VIN that is mounted in the left door jamb.
Are the fender tag and core support stampings order numbers? Are they supposed to match the VIN at all?

Fender tag SO Number is supposed to match the core support number and have absolutely no relation to the VIN tag on the door jamb

As Don told the SO number is the last five figures on the stamping on the core support.
