started the restoration on the 69 Valiant today and was looking at a lot of stuff on it. This thing has the original starter on it. 69000 original miles. Has the factory chalk marks different places and the tape on the fender that tells that the fender has never been off the car. One thing I was wanting to go back with was a vintage battery that had the caps on top. where can you get then today if you still can. I think I want an old battery in this. Thanks,Bill

I found some at $265. is there any cheaper than that or is that about correct for the ones with the 6 caps on top.

I have a flat top battery in both my dart and Imperial

But have a Mopar cap and it looks real

Had choice of green, yellow or red caps

I have heard from others the expensive vintage battery will not last long. One reason I went with the cap. Battery is a standard battery from Interstate and when it needs replaced hope I can be another the correct size the cap will fit on.

Are you saying the "cap" is just a faux top with 6 fake lids on it? Where did you find such a thing? Cool!

Wow, they're sorta proud of them battery toppers, about $100 shipped. Plus the cost of a battery. I guess if that's the look you want...

The tartopper site is around 20 bucks plus 7 for shipping. I dunno about quality though.

The vintage battery I had lasted two years before it died. It was a unsealed battery that they shipped dry and you added your own acid and water.
