Had my 48v electric cart for 6 or 7 years now. It’s a 2013 ez go. When I bought it, still had I am sure the factory Trojan batteries.
They are finally shot. In preparation for replacing them, I read what they weigh. 85 pounds each. Heavy suckers. No way I could muscle them out of there.
Did a little research, they make straps with hooks. The batteries have places on them to hook straps onto. I bought them on Amazon for 14 bucks.
Anyhow, got 3 of the 4 batteries out. The forth battery is harder to get to, taking a break before I tackle that one.
Word to the wise, buy these battery straps, it makes this job doable, would have never gotten them out otherwise

I gave up on the electric carts . I have 5 old yamaha gas carts and never have to deal with them dam batteries again. Let me know if you ever get a battery that last more then 2 years in all weather. My gas carts sit all year outside . when covered with snow , Clear the seat and plow you way out. They are driven everyday and no charging ever. Lats the whole weekend at any show.

The Golf car dealers have hoists to handle the batteries. Like a cherry picker. The damn things are heavy.

I still have a cherry picker here I borrowed. I had given some thought to using that, was a matter of getting something to go from the hook to the battery.

Yea, when I bought this cart I gave thought to which way to go, decided on battery.
These batteries are 12 years old now. I paid 1500 bucks for the cart 7 years ago, with these new batteries in it I will have no problem getting the extra back I paid for them.
But I don’t leave it outside, stays in a garage.

I had to change house batteries in my motorhome at a retailer, wish I'd had those straps.
I used my belt, - bent the buckle, lol

5 years ago I bought a Cricket golf cart. It's super small. So far the batteries have been fine. It doesn't weigh much and it's the perfect size for 2 people or less. It's made in the USA (Florida) and I have a ramp to run it in the side door of my trailer in front of the car. If you are a 1 man operation like I am 90 % of the time it's worth taking a look at!

I want to get a Ground hog . I believe its similar You can take them into the pick & pull salvage yards. Getting to old to walk carrying tools and then the parts you buy.

Next time pretend each of them batteries is a 9 second ET slip and watch how easy they are to remove by hand? IDK

New batteries installed, what a pain in the butt for an old guy..lol
Anyhow, glad I took pictures before I hooked everything up with new batteries.
There was a red wire that got pushed down that I didn’t see initially. Looked at my pictures and said..hey where is that wire at? Fished it out, cart runs like a champ again. Track ready.
Here in next few days gonna make a sortie with the car to verify all is working properly on the road.
First outing is a week from Saturday, gonna get literally one hit, then into Eliminations This race is an all run deal at the biggest event at 131 every year. I will be footbraking against box cars, top sportsmen, top dragsters etc, etc. it’s PDRA bracket bash. Likely be the slowest car entered and only one using 2 feet. But I love racing on a clean tree and being chased
Probably get my butt kicked with no seat time, but with all the booked in cars at this event( top fuel, nitro funny’s, pro mods, nitro altereds, jets, etc, etc… it’s fun to just be part of it, win or lose. Kids and grandkids always make an appearance to watch grandpa
