Guess this one is for the guys that have been around for a bit. I recently acquired an old demon drag car. I'm going to put it back on the street but I'm trying to keep all modifications and upgrades in the early to mid 70's vein. I'm going to run a sumped stock gas tank to a fram canister fuel filter then to a Holley or more than likely a Carter elec pump. I'd really like to stay away from steel braided hose and a/n fittings. I guess Im looking for info on a quality rubber hose and period correct fuel systems that can deal with the crap gas we all have to deal with. I'm thinking the 340 is about 500 horse and the most it'll be driven is 50mi or so in one direction and the most it'll be raced is at our little local 10th mi track. Thanks, Jeff

I’d use aluminum fuel line LONG before I used any no braided rubber line. I’d also look at better pumps than the Carter or the Holley. Spend more once than spending less to start and spending more money in the end.

Aluminum tubing, let me know how much you may need. I will send you what I have for shipping cost.

I would locate the filter after the pump, as pumps push better than they pull. As long as the tank is clean on assembly and you have a sock in the tank, it will be fine.

I had a friend fab a steel line for me, just under $100. Only rubber is at the filter, which is between the pump and carb.
