I have had a new vinyl top put on my 74 scamp. I am going to install a new gasket and windshield. They both were out when the top was installed. How far should the vinyl material be under the windshield gasket, or should it be under it at all?

on my '69 barracuda, the vinyl is tucked under the seal up front. Far enough to keep it from popping out on its own, obviously. Its a replacement so I can't help give "factory" specs.

On my 71 duster the factory vinyl top was under the trim clips and the screws went through the material. I did the replacement the same way. Hope this helps.
