Visor tips

Does anyone KNOW the correct visor tips for a '66 Valiant convertible? Mine are missing and I'd like to get the proper ones. Are they plastic? metal? rubber? Is there supposed to be a metal post in the end that the tip attaches to? Maybe a source to get a pair? I see Layson's has some in their catalog, but, it's confusing as to which ones are correct for a '66 model.

That's the rub.....I see some sites that say '66 is plastic and like the '65 and earlier models (makes sense on most parts that year) and other sites that say it's the same as the '67-up cars using the metal shaft and rubber tips. Who has a virgin original that can check for me? I figured that the early plastic is probably correct since they us the same mirror bracket, but, '66 was a transition year for some things, so, maybe not.....

67 up rubber tip. My 66 Satellite has metal..

65 Dodge 440 has solid plastic..

I've got two '66 A-body convertible mirror bases and neither one has a spring clip like your '66 B-body one, so, I presume that means it doesn't take the solid metal visor post. So, that leaves the early plastic post, or, the later metal base post with the rubber tips. Who can confirm which it takes? It's not easy to figure out which part it is in the factory parts manual. I believe the correct part is 2162628, called the "visor inner support" (and only shows it being a convertible part which is true) which also leads me to believe it's supposed to be the early plastic post judging by that early part number. It would be nice to know for sure though before I go ordering parts. It's strange that the part number is shown in section 23-103-48, but, not in the index in the back!

66 and 67 were both transition years.

Example...

The 67 e brake handle is the same as 66 68 up is different.

66 bucket seat frame can interchange with 67, no provision for head rest. But is a bolt in otherwise

Hey, just trying to help. My Sat HP2 had 9708 original miles on it when I bought it, so can only presume it's OE.
