visual differance 7.25/8.25

ok moparians i know its been asked many times and hey its too damn hot and im lazy at the moment to dig through the archives to look lol. whats the visual differance between a 7.25 and a 8.25 axle?

7 1/4 back plate looks kinda stopsign like, has distinct angles,not sire how many sides. The 8 1/4 looks oval, no corners.

7.25 - 9 cover bolts, 2.5" (I think) axle tubes
8.25 - 10 cover bolts, 3" (I think) axle tubes
