Voltage regulator Question

In swapping out the engine in my 73 duster I am using an aftermarket ignition and want to know can I just splice into the blue wire on the alternator with a 12 volt wire off the ignition switch ? I think before on the 6 Tower Of Power the wire came off the ckoke control.

The blue wire on the alternator is 12 volts that is switched through the ignition switch. This wire is typically spliced in at the 12 volt feed to the voltage regulator.
