Wanted -- Cheap running engine and trans

I am looking for a CHEAP -- running engine and trans for my Demon project. Key to this needs to be close so I can pick up, needs to be complete, needs to be running, and needs to be CHEAP.... I am looking for 318 or 360 jus something that I can run and drive to help move the project around and tool around town in while I am working on the project.

Would northern NJ be too far to travel? A friend of mine has a 1972 Challenger 318 that's complete. He's looking to get $300 for it.
