Water in my oil

Well there it is. #4 with what may be a broken ring wedged in the piston and jammed into the head. Everything was brand new at the beginning of 2024. Talk about setting money on fire.

Once I get it torn down and know what’s salvageable I’ll start selling off the parts to recoup some money to put toward a 6.4. It’s funny it ran for a long time like this, and won me many races.

That sure looks like freeze damage. I had to replace a 318 Poly-Head Marine block in a '65 Correct Craft Barracuda, & it looked just like that.
Murleys' Marine had a never used, never bored Industrial block, which is the same except the Front oil drainback holes are not drilled thru, which is no biggie.
I did it with a 1/2 Chuck hand drill, with a lever arm, & long drill bit and a square.
I was recently surprised to see someone on here say was Strictly a machine shop job!

Newer Bars Leak totally different & haven't tried it.
Don't think the 'Pellet or 'Rabbit Food' Type is made any more .
We finished at least couple races due to always adding soon before the starts. We'd crush the pellets with a screwdriver handle before it pouring in.
Is the newer type any good? Seems like an Aluma-Seal copy?

Had a couple of guys seal head gaskets
Im not a can.fix guy ...you know it's going to clog the heater core or rad
But a cheap pos car fix
Or maybe 1/4 mile fix

I’m going to guess it’s cracked near the bottom of the cylinder because it didn’t look like the gasket was leaking from the camera. I could definitely see water running off the #4 rod when I stuck the camera in the drain plug hole.
 
Did ya silicone around all water openings in the intake and timing cover? Gaskets may not be enough always silicone them. Only place you wont silicone is the head gaskets., you ll silicone the timing cover in two places one each side where the cover seals to the block...and where the intake meets the heads at all 4 water openings in the heads. Apply silicone then set gasket in place apply silicone again on the gasket etc. Oh youze already said all this?...nevermind... :thumbsup:

It also sheared the #3 main support on the block when the crank broke. You can see the piece that broke laying on top…. sorry for the fuzzy pic. I pretty much had to start over with a 318.

I appreciate the link you sent. However, DTM will have a car before I try to repair a crank like that!! :thumbsup:

Back in mid 80s I had a nice low mile 340 someone I knew bought a 1967 Camaro. So not needed. Had the 4 bolt main thing you added. It was on chain fall. My help let it fall. Yepper fell and broke the rear main cap and part of the main part of the block and cap off.
Stuff happens

Let me guess. It's a Hemi too, just like the one Joe Dirt had in the shop getting a chrome gas foot pedal installed.
We believe ya Dan, you have given us no reason not too....... . .
