water pump clearance issue

put on new timing chain cover(measured the same thickness as old cover)the same bolts were used as came out.the second hole up from bottom on passenger side in cover hits when you try to put the water pump on.it is also a new water pump.I believe I can grind the bolt head down at a angle and get the pump to fit.but before I grind said bolt head to clear the lower radiator hose tube I thougth I would tuch base here and see if there may be something I'm missing.Is this a normal problem with new water pumps?thanks for any help.

What is different the front cover or the water pump ?

it's really hard to tell any differences in either with a tape.I think the radiater hose tube may angle ever so slightly inward on the new pump.that makes it to close to the bolt head.

I have the same problem on a magnum w/ LA timing cover and pump. Use a skinny washer, or no washer, or shave the head of the bolt down. I removed the washer.

Don't use a washer .

I ended up with no washer and I ground the bolt head down
