Water Pump Differences

I was looking at water pumps for my dad's very mild 360 and noticed the auto parts store sells a 6-blade pump and an 8-blade pump. Which is the one to get? I'd assume the 8-blade moves more water. Is that true? Is one for A/C cars and one for non-A/C cars?

Yes you are correct.

The old Mopar DC performance books recommended the AC 6 blade pump, less drag I guess?

one is a/c the other is non a/c. forget which is which..

the a/c and non a/c cars use different dia pulleys too. so one is turning faster then the other.

That makes sense. The 6-vane pump must have been used with the smaller diameter pulley. Thanks guys.
