Building a house that is:

It’s been a 6+ year process of waiting but we’re finally building our house! We were supposed to do this in spring of 2020 but of course, the overreaction that was Covid happened and everything got cancelled.

Fast forward thru years of waiting for an opening for a contractor, we finally convinced our bank to let me be the contractor. Course I’m subbing out a lot of the physical work but we finally broke ground a couple weeks ago on the drive way, now the basement is going in!

Be sure to post oictures of progress so everybody can tell you what you should have done.
Right?!? Haha I do commercial construction project management so I deal with that every minute of every day haha. Put 100 contractors in a room, you’ll get 300 different opinions

Biiiiig basement for a game room.

Congratulations!! Having started to build a home in 2021 and it taking forever to get completed, I fully appreciate what you've gone through to this point. I hope your build goes well and you can get the exact home you want!

Now, about the size of your garage and shop.....well....

I’m gonna be in your area of the country in October. Visiting a friend down toward Altuna

Congratulations. When you're done, let us know if it was cheaper to build or buy an existing house. The way home prices are exploding in some geographic areas I've heard that people could save a few hundred $K by building.

Building a split foyer? The basement doesn't look8 or 10' deep.

Just a couple hours away. Should be great weather then - c'mon down and pay a visit!!
May do that!
Nice!! Will need progress pics if you can!!
Posting some up. This is yesterdays progress.

Walk out basement. It’s dug out 9 feet , terrain conditions mean ground level will slope down slightly to keep basement on true level. Pics are hard to tell.
