Amy & me went out to the beach this morning for a breakfast cruise at Captree State Park. Beautiful morning, empty roads, no police presence, real nice drive. We get out there and check out the machinery: From mini-trucks & imports to a Lamborghini & a Bentley. Wild range of cars & bikes. Then, in the middle of it all I spot a weird one:
An old Henry J ! I haven't seen one of these since the last vintage drag event I went to in Maple Grove, Pa. It caught my attention so I snapped a picture. Like I said, it was a beautiful day and all the lots were full. We continued walking throught the cars and what do I spot; a SECOND Henry J !
How many of these things can be left? And to find 2 at the same cruise parked in different ends of the lot no less. So I figure I've seen two oddities and that's that. We continue walking and spot a pair of beautiful Pontiac Fiero's parked side by side with a large crowd behind the cars inspecting the engines. Now, human nature is to walk over a see what everyone is looking at. I'm glad I did.
This one is packing a supercharged V-6.....
And this one a Corvette small block! The workmanship was first rate. They were both magazine quality cars and stood out as much as the guy with the new Ford GT.
For my fellow Long Islander's every Sunday morning from 7:30 to about 10-ish everyone gathers at the dock's at the fishing boat rentals and show there rides. Captree State Park just off the Robert Moses Causeway. Checkitout! :thumrigh:
