Weird Intale.. Anyone know what this is?

My dad passed last year... I've been taking inventory of his mopar stuff. Found this intake... anyone know what is is? Seems like the intake and valley pan are all one unit... strange.. never seen one. Thanks in advance!

That intake was cast by DragMaster in the 60s. It was intended as an oval track part. Does it have max wedge ports or standard?

Looks to me like it has to be max heads as there is no boss to plug or pass the heat crossover

If I remember correctly they have the early small AFB flange. They are pretty rare but not super desirable from my past experience. I have had a shot at two or three of them over the years and passed. It would be cool to see how one stacked up on a stock stroke Max wedge engine in a Dyno session. There is an article in one of the 1964 hot rod magazines that details quite a few of the drag Master parts being produced at the time.

Might be worth some money to someone who is trying to restore a vintage NASCAR Mopar. Here is a similar intake on a NASCAR Hemi engine. The Hemi version used a Dominator flange.

That would be fun for a machinist to try to get the China wall to seal along with the head seal all matched up after all the decking done to blocks and heads that have been milled…
