I welded the front full time axle on a 76 Dodge dana 44 sand drag truck. My thinking was you could drive it in the sand or mud, Wrong! Just driving to the starting line, if you tried to turn more than a little, the truck would drive into the tires and rip the steering wheel out of your hand! And if your arm was anywhere near the steering wheel, it would be instant broken arm! And break axles? by the dozen. I'm going to try and find an old picture of the truck if I can.

I am guessing my sarcasm of using any kind of locked diff on the street might have been lost.

I still don't really see the point of have a little bit of diff movement, but I do say it's intriguing.

Welding the diff on a street car is all about it's intended use.
For a daily, or a cruiser..or anything that might see rain...VERY VERY bad idea!!!
Saturday night special? Go for it
