Well, another reason to skip Wal-Mart

Dietz Diggler is right. That IS funny.
No, RPM. Actually,I started the thread because I wanted to find out who the A holes are. NOT
Now,I just don’t understand people that hate dogs. (Stick pokey thing goes here)
If someone doesn’t let their child have a dog they might grow up to be a serial something-or-other.
("I got my priorities in order", adriver whines)
RPM thinks like a lawyer (“looks to motive”) and has a sense of humor too.
I’m sorry RPM, that was a low blow.
But I’m still crying from be compared to Paris Hilton.
Or maybe it is from peeling the onion. I don’t know.
I have been questioned on motive already.
But I think they did it for a different purpose than you.
“Just guessing.”
I hope I responded to that previously.
This time of the year cabin fever sets in. Maybe post holiday depression. Everyone is worried about the economy. (Except me). People are quarrelsome. Go figure.(see page 5 post eighty eighty)
I’ll just take the "Forrest Gump Amendment": “For no particular reason”.
The post seemed like a good antidotal personal story of interest.
What does one talk about in the “General” forum anyway?
Whether the metric system is superior?
Euthanasia and the right of physician assisted suicide?
Does anyone believe in vampires?

Goldfish65: Thanks for your understanding. But I’m not “suffering” nearly as much as many are. I’m thankful for the day.

General note:
Dogs are special. What other pet do we have that alerts its owner to an epileptic seizure?
(How do they do that?) As I told Dietz Diggler, I don’t think it is that unusual for people to take their companions with them, as far as is reasonably possible.
If you see a person with a dog in public you figure they aren’t a criminal on several levels. (Aside from thugs and the Michael Vick types that have dogs at home for obvious reasons.)
In the first place it makes’s a person more easily identifiable. It adds something to the description if they commit a crime..
In the second place seeing a person with a dog says that person probably cares for or about something beside just himself or herself.
Not always cares wisely, but it does say that.
The person trapped under the rubble is glad when they hear the woof woof of the search dog. Allergies be damned.
Pardon me while I vacuum my sweater. Some people think I suck anyway.
The Cranberries have some interesting album titles for this tread.
See next.

Pastor tom1.
Bless you.
What is that tune you are whistling?
You are a wise man and a blessing sent from above.
Are you whistling something by the Cranberries? They have several titles that also might apply to this thread like the images that are shown in Zombie.
“Everybody Else Is Doing It, Why Can’t We?
(Like mother said: Just because everyone is doing it, that doesn’t make it right.)
“Bury The Hatchet”
“Wake Up And Smell The Coffee”
Or “Linger”?
Maybe it is “Ridiculous Thoughts”. Probably best applied to me by some..
“To The Faithful Departed”?
The most valuable thing we can give our children is our time.
You are wise and speak as if moved by God.
Now if I could just learn to listen to His voice.
Maybe I should sell all my old A body stuff and try and keep things in perspective.
You know, spend my time more wisely.
And quit reading this board.
Any buyers?
Sorry, that should be in the “For Sale” forum and I should stay on topic.

Dartnut,
Oh, by the way.
You probably understand things better than anyone else so far on more than one level (layer). . I have tried to combine my replies in single posts so I wouldn’t hog board space. Think how long this thread would be if I didn’t do that and couldn't speed type. (Or took things out of “context” and reposted emails. That’s NOT YOU.) Combining my post probably made you think that some of my comments in a previous post were directed at you. No, it was a lame hint to everyone not to get “political”. (Whatever that means. Like I said, hard to know sometimes where to post things.).
I’ve read that people are giving the mods a hard enough time over having a political forum. I can hear the PM’s now from the clicks on the keys. (Double meaning or pun there too)
One thing I think you might not get though.
The questions involved here don’t seem so much about right and wrong to me. And I wouldn’t say that everyone here is either right or wrong.
Not even me.
It seems more like looking at many things in terms of good and bad. And using common sense. But you are correct in the majority of those posting don’t see it like I do. Maybe people just don’t want to appear to be inconsiderate dog owners. There might be a correlation there and to dog owners in general.
But there are exceptions to every rule as we have seen. (Or maybe there should be) Now there’s a concept. Let’s all think about that one.

I take my dog "pizza butt" everywhere with me,even wal mart, she'd be mad as hell if I didn't take her.I roll the windows down enough for her to have plenty of kewl air.man I hope nobody breaks out my window and steals my dog.....I'd miss her

I like the name. Any more good ones?

I had not thought about him until this morning. I have a close friend that I don’t get to see much because of “time”. Probably one the best people in the world. But I just now thought of him because I called to give him a heads up on a Dart and Power Wagon on craigslist. He has a grown daughter who lives out of state.. And two golden retrievers are his companions. The dogs go everywhere with him it seems. One has “seizures”. Again, I don’t think it’s unusual for someone to have a dog with them in public. I don’t think most people would give it a second thought. (A puppy in the jacket might be different, but not odd).

Obama won.
Get him a dog.

This is a great sight.
The people make it.

Went to the grocery store on Friday. You will be proud of me. Left the Chihuahua at home. Weather, vehicle and time determine the choice since I don’t take a dog in the grocery store.
I always shop at this particular store. My choice.
Primary reason: They hire “special needs” people to help with bagging.
Secondary reason: The employees are represented.
My choice. I don’t expect anyone else to agree.
And I have personal experience with the down side of unions and know all about it. The only thing I like less than a union is a scab. Don’t get stuck on that point.
(This man is no friend of unions.
See what he says about choosing a place to shop these days.)

Sure enough, you guessed it.
Spotted a man in a green SUV with a poodle dog.
(How strange. Wink)
Last year I actually saw a couple inside the store with a Yorkie.
OK, that is "different".
They seemed to be doing something other than just shopping.
I ask the manger about them in an oblique way. (He recognizes me as a customer so it was just a casual conversation). They were employees of the chain.
Go figure.

Yesterday I went to out to pick up a couple of things at other stores.
Y3 gets attention.
Two hygienically challenged fellows in a pick-up truck yelled across the parking lot at me.
“Hey, want to sell that car?”
“No. I don’t think so.”

On the way into the parking lot, I had passed another fellow in a brown Diplomat who waved at me.
You guessed it. He had a dog in the back seat.
Go figure.
I did get my nose hair trimmer at what used to be a twenty-four hour Walgreen’s.
Truth is stranger than fiction.

I will let each individual draw his or her own conclusions on this.
That is always best. Note the date.

Sad that he passed away but the title's all I can make out. Too small and blurry for me to make out on my average 17" monitor. Looks like his dog is a guide dog and he is outside the store. What's the relevance with going into a store with a dog that is not needed to help you, like his was.

And if someone is that alergic, they might want to consider staying home anyway.

Did not read this whole thread, ended up here clicking on a link. But the above statement has to be one of the most idotic ways to look at things. Almost as bad as the guy that sends someone a check for parts, never gets the parts or the check back and now he is ranting about how he is worried about fraud....if he was that worried about fraud he would not have sent a check in the first place.

Because someone is allergic to a dog they have to be house bound, come on now, you can not be serious.....

i agree animals should stay at home but will admit i take my chameleon with me sometimes. he is small enough to hid in my pocket and always stays there so no one ever sees him. how ever he will some times stick his head out look around then go back in lol he scared the crap out of a few people. nothing like seeing a mini dinosaur in some ones pocket

Wow someones reading old threads jumping from 2009 to 2012.:D
It is a good subject.

The main reason for not allowing pets except service animals in stores is called law suit. It's to cover the store and pet owner butt.
All it takes is someone trying to pet the animal and gets bit. It could mean
big problems not only for the owner of the pet, but the store for allowing it
in the store.

There are people out there who will sue over anything hence warning labels like ( don't folder stroller with child in it).
