1st off, Josh is fine. Crawled out one of the side windows with just a scratch on his right hand.
No other vehicles involved.
He learned a hard expensive lesson yesterday on his way home from school. Came out of a side street where the pick-ups are parked in the one pic, making a left, and got on it a little too hard. *** end spun around and off the side of the road and down the storm drainage embanbkment.....
Heartbroken and pride destroyed.
Money aside, alot of love and time was in the build. Told him his next one is all his expense with 50% of the labor coming from me.

It is not going to buff out.....

He'll pull the driveline, interior and as many little bits that survive - He's already talking about stripping it down and finding a mostly solid roller Duster/Dart Sport.

Holy smokes, looks like every panel is smashed in. Glad he's ok. Most likely wearing a seatbelt which is the difference between life & death for many in rollovers, even at slower speeds.
Looks like there's probably LOTS of good mechanical parts for the next one, at least!

My wife, who tolerates our hobby well and is tired of hearing the boys quote every line of the movie "Cars", said she feels like she's looking at this in the driveway.... I have to agree, as I said that very thing to Josh when the rollback left the driveway.

That’s nothing that I’m sure a lot of us would, could, or did do as young hot rodders. I know I cleaned out a ditch or three in my youth. Glad he’s ok.

I know I did.

And I had to clean my drawers afterwards, as I missed having the end of a very heavy steel gate (think of a "Y" laid on it's side) go through the windshield by mere inches.

Very glad to hear Josh is OK. As others have mentioned, things can be replaced. Kids can't. I'd like to say I've never dipped a toe in the "hard lesson learned" pool of knowledge, but I'd be lying. Making a big mistake in judgement and (mostly) getting away with it was key to getting smarter as I grew up. Kinda sad about the car though, it is (was) a beauty.
