Well liner repair, suggestions, ideas?

Would like to repair the well liner on my 67 Dart convertible, the vinyl part is in good shape, the plastic(?)strips with the snaps at the sides and rear are falling apart. I know I can replace the whole works, but mine is still the original, has "DART" and a date in 1967 (don't remember the date right off hand) stamped on it. The repair of the plastic strips wouldn't have to look original as the only way to see the strips would be to crawl in the trunk.
Suggestions, ideas?

I'm sure you can buy the material and have an upholstery shop sew it in, but cutting the slits for the snaps will be a PITA...
