My original intentions when posting were to get an idea of how much I should ask for it to sell. I honestly don’t have the skills to complete at the same level as Coddingtons shop and I have recently retired and don’t have the funds to hire a shop to finish it for me.
do you care if it's done at the same level? or do you feel as if that would be some sort of a disservice to it?
if not, tally ho baby! don't worry about getting it right or perfect, just get it running and on the road.
know this much going in: you will never,
ever, ever get what you have into it back out.
this much i do know, if you're trying to get out from under it there's two plans of approach.
>put nothing into it, represent it as best as possible. tidy it up, clean it, a BUNCH of pics and list it up on BAT and you get what you get. ease it on down the road with some gold doubloons in your pocket and less weight on your mind.
with this the understanding is that it'll be what it'll be. adios.
>make it start and run. enough to take it around the block kinda deal. obviously this is more involved and you'll be out of pocket some amount of money. but the upside is that a *
running* project gets considerably more eyeballs and thus more money. but the duality of that is the foreboding unknown of making something run that is half *** finished, you didn't start, and been sitting the better part of a lifetime. that could entail a fat chunk of change that you may not totally recoup, or eats significantly into the overall sale price.
that's usually how i approach this type of situation: is it worth it to lighten my mental & physical load and take less money, or do i put in the time and dime on the gamble that i'll come up bigger in the black on the b-side.
