I come up with
Oct. 6th 1970 but it is a all aluminum case?

That 8 makes it a 68... And it looks like cast iron to me... But I'm assuming you've picked it up so weight is a bigger clue than what it looks like in a photo..

Oh, the G makes it a St Louis built vehicle..

I would have said '68 St Louis trans too...... but the Vin was stamped in full in early 69, from then on, only the eight characters shown........ I doubt same format was used in 68.
so I think SShemidart is right, a '78 trans.
Somebody else will have to translate the "pp" and "3357" codes.
 
I believe you'll find that's the 335th day of 1967 and not a number on the 10,000 day calendar.

From what I understand.
The Pp833 stands for new process 833.
The 3357 is the 10000 day calendar date. Hence
10-6-1970.
I believe it to be a mud 70s Overdrive for a A body.
