What application for crank pulley #3814378

-
Going just by the part number, no. The number may have been superceded though. The original part number for a '70 340 with P/S, but, w/o A/C is 2946789. It would have one offset mounting bolt hole. Starting in '72, they went to an evenly staggered bolt pattern.......and I'm sure a new part number. Being that late a number, I'm sure that would have the even pattern too. You can use either type by slotting that one hole.

I think the number is supposed to be 3614378. I believe it is for small and big block engines without AC and power steering.

If it's a two groove pulley, yes. One groove=no A/C and no P/S, 4 groove= A/C with P/S.

The number is probably 3614378. As cudamark said 2946789 with 2 groove pulley was the staggered bolt pattern used in the 1970 and 1971 A Body 340 with power steering and without air conditioning. 3614378 pulley with 2 grooves and with evenly staggered bolt pattern came into existence in 1972. This number is in the 1972 and latter catalogs.

So I went to a local store that has re-pop pulleys for my application. It's pretty, black, powdercoated and the wrong design. But it'll work. I didn't buy it so I opened up the one hole. It fits perfect and now I have six bolts. What pisses my off, is I ruined a perfect 1972 pulley #3614378. I wish I would of searched for the correct #2946789 pulley. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GOOD INFO.
