What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
First day with sunshine and no rain in a while... got the Dart out for some more carb adjustment. It's getting there, one tweak at a time. Now I need more premium (it uses a lot while gunning it up and down the back roads, or idling & revving in the driveway while I tinker) but don't feel like going to town.

Not a damn thing. ....ugh.
I've had a pounding migraine all day....bad.
I'm about 2 hours of easy buttoning up on the transmission project and I can drive it again. ...gonna have to wait for later this week.
Feels like a BAD hangover except I didn't drink.

Bummed out but it's ok....couple hours Friday and it's a wrap.

Jeff

What the heck.... The only job you can do laying down and you have to whine about it.... LOL

My Dodge truck let me down... For the first time in I dont know how long..... The arm rest screw came loose. Thank goodness it didnt fall out... Those are hard to find... Vintage 1977 you know....
Ok... Im done with the wise cracks... Feel better Jeff :)

Finally getting the motor installed. Had to remove the heater motor but the motor is in!!!!! So much still to do

My daily is a 97 Town and Country that I bought for $200. (Customer didn’t want to put a a/c compressor in it)
The kids mom has a 2014 with two TV’s and a DVD player.

I robbed the TV and blue ray player out of the camper. Power inverter from my ice fishing bucket. Garage sale sign holder I had laying around.

(just using for cruising around town during the quarantine. not taking it out on the highway.)

I worked on the D100 project. I put in the rebuilt 3.23/PowerLok. I got rid of the tapered axle. I did an axle flip while I was at it. Truck sets about where I want it. I have to mess with the pinion angle and LH/RH level.

Back up in the air on 4 jackstands today. Have to check throttle cable adjustment with wifey's help. Then readjust the promatic2 shifter cable (not even close right now), and readjust kickdown.
Then hopefully a few more small things. I've made some spacers to raise my bucket seats up an inch. Finish the install of my LC-2 air/fuel gauge, etc, etc, etc. Plenty of small things to do.

Back at slapping the engine together. Did lots on my son's truck too! Cab and box off and safely stored! This is my kinda clutter! This social distance thing is right up my alley!

Getting closer. At least at this point the dismantling is over and it’s going back together. Found a bad spot in the frame rail so I had to change the spring perch to fix it. Had to cut more of the floor out to get to it. That was a two day set back. I took as many measurements as I could and it went back in well. Guess I’ll find out when I put the leaf spring back in. Lol.

Being at home is going to help finish up a few projects! First is the Ramcharger floors that were just awaiting sealer over the welds and then........dare I say? My Nova needed the same!

Just received my distributor back from @halifaxhops (Ray) had him re-curve and a go through. Excellent, replaced the springs and replace the vacuum advance, perfect for my tune. Thanks again Ray.

A little more complete on the, umm, err, Chevrolet Duster! I got a used carpet for $25. Couldn’t turn that down. I fabbed up some mounting points for the Shelby seats and got them installed. Damn those are comfy.

You guys are really making me feel lazy!
If spring would just get here and STAY here, I can get back to carb tuning. The local news says this March is now in the top five for wettest-ever :( Tomorrow's supposed to be nice though. So I put 4.5 gallons of alcohol-free pump premium in the fuel cell... and that's it ;)

Just got done welding the stiffener plates on the lca's, and making templates and washers for my k member.

When I bought this car back in the late 80's it had hit a curb and damaged the LCA among other things. I simply changed the front sub-frame assembly but did not keep the disc brakes. So now I'm replacing the drums back to disc. Lower ball joint was loose so they both get changed.

Sold my Dart a few weeks ago. It’s in the 80s think I’ll go wash the Lincoln. Then lock it away in the garage need to shine it up too.

Finally opened up the garage after about 4 months, it was still there! Planning on starting new projects on it for this year, scoops, go wing and stripes.

85F this afternoon! Still trying to find the right tune for my old Holley 800 double-pumper. Now too rich at low speeds, but about right with the secondaries wide-open too. It's amazing how much gas it drinks!
It's also hard to watch the AFR & vacuum gauges while at WOT... even in 4th gear, at 60 mph (3000 rpm) it's just coming on the cam so it accelerates FAST to 80 which is all I can do on clear straight roads near the house. Not to mention the po-po would not approve ;)

Holley sniper efi. So easy a caveman could do it!!!!!

I am actually just laying it all out right now. Then it is time to read instructions.
