What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
I got the transmission in today!! I'm running the original torque converter for now. But, at least I'm back on the road. Tomorrow I'll adjust the shifter and the tailpipe on the right side needs adjusted.

I took a quick ride around the block and all seems well. Didn't get a chance to open it up but I can tell there is 5.9 in there!

I freaking LOVE that car!!!

Thanks Jeff!! I love your Notch too!!

After Roy and I connect to swap parts I'll be visiting your transmission rebuild thread and rebuilding one. Then I'll install the high stall converter and have some fun.

Made a little progress today. Finished up repair of the right side rocker panel.

Dartfreak75, you have ambition like no other. Keep at it. I welded in my tail bucket today cause the original was smashed in at some point and poorly repaired but dissected another and got it done. Oh and little advice don’t try and weld while wear crocks, no socks, and shorts. You think I would have learned the first time I burnt my toes. Today got me real good right on top of my foot. Ouch.

Thank you friend i appreciate at it I get overwhelmed sometimes but I just gotta focus on one task at a time when I get that task finished I get a feeling of accomplishment to get me going thru the next task. Good advice on the welding with crocks I learned my lesson about welding without gloves the other day. :BangHead:

I had to repair my garage door opener (turned out to be a failed solder joint on the PC-board-mounted power transformer that supplies the 24 volts to the relays and the regulator for the electronics), so the Dart had to move to the driveway. It was a beautiful 68 degree day so I just drove it a mile down the dirt road and a mile back. At least I got to enjoy it for a few minutes!

Then the old original K frame comes out and this QA1 goes in.

had to fix something at church so i drove the duster there

there was a visiting preacher there, for the live stream church service, so i sat in and listened to that, then as i left my preacher "complained" about the burn out marks someone was leaving in his parkinglot, and the visiting preacher said he wouldnt mind seeing that for himself...so yeah i burned off the N50s

annihilating a pair of scab tires with open header 3rd gear burnouts. The highways are empty and gas under $2.

This 360 has been a long time in the making, started collecting parts back in 2014, it's nothing special just a 30 over 360 9.5 to1 stock stroke and tickled 915's small hyd cam,
So today i lit the fire, run into a few small issues, but cam run in went well.
Small video on test stand , pay no attention to temp gauge as it was way off .

Hate to say it but it's Chevy Hugger Orange

Noooo! Say it isn't so!?!

I get asked if mine is Hugger Orange all the time (actually it is one of my favorite colors). But I went with Hemi Orange. I just couldn't put a Chevrolet color on my car. But I but it will look awesome.

That's cool where you gonna mount them

Its mounted in the factory location where the stock 4x10" speaker went under the dash. I just traced the speaker bracket onto the aluminum plate, eyeballed where I wanted the new speakers, traced them also, and used a 4" holesaw to cut holes. There is guy on here that used to or still is selling these brackets, I just had the tools and material to do it or else I would have contacted him

i just might pull the duster out of the garage, jack it up, and measure it for sub frame connectors

but i doubt ill be able to find a place that sell 2x3 tube

I drove mine home yesterday, I couldn't wait any longer.

I'll get the exhaust leak fixed this week. Feels good to ride in an old car again.

Went on about a 120 mile cruise today. Got it put back together after getting the heads back last week from the machine shop. Ran great. No issues and checked the fuel mileage at 13.8. That was with not kicking in the 4 barrel . Boring, but I'm gonna have to learn to keep my foot out of the carb.
