i am building a 440 to replace my 413 in my valiant. I have a set of 10 to 1 forged TRW pistons. I am going to use it as a street strip car. What Rod, Main and cam bearings are the best? Also what about Rings? I am not going to spray the motor.Any other advice?

Thanks,

Will

I'm a fan of Clevite 77 bearings. Good 'ol moly coated iron rings aid in break-in/seating. You said you're not going to spray the motor but if you anticipate nitrous or other power adders in the future then you need to open the ring end gap accordingly.

IMO, Kings are the best but overkill for what you're doing. The Clevites are fine. I've used Clevite or Durabond on the cam - no problems with either. As far as rings go - a file-to-fit performance moly top ring is fine. Check the pistons to be sure but I believe they use the parger factory ring thickness too. Make sure the shop you use knows what rings you will use as they need to leave the cylinders with the right surface finish
