Received this intake and want to have carb recommendations. Figger a mostly stock engine build. 383 ps cam. Any pics of an original setup from early 1960's. Was thinking of using small cfm like 2x400. A new carb would be easier to get ,than finding older. Mostly like the look of the 2 4's over making big power. Drivabilty a must. Thanks

A pair of 400's would be great, super throttle response and 800 CFM on a wide open throttle run. What could be better? IDK, Brand new 400's maybe? To bad there not made that small anymore. SO, if you get "NEW" carbs, Edelbrock 500's will have to do. Just take the time to jet it correctly. IMO, the AVS style carb is the best for this.

From the Edelbrock site;

#1803/#1804 are calibrated for dual-quad applications and factory equipped with: Metering Jets - Primary .086, Secondary .077; Metering Rods - .065 x .057; #1804: Primary .086, Secondary .077; Metering Rods - .065 x .052; Step-Up Spring - orange (5" Hg).

Everything else for this set up can be gotten from Edelbrock as well. Linkage, fuel lines, air cleaner, tuning kit.
