What cleaner would you use to clean outside of holley's?

I want to cleanup the outside of them (brushing etc). I don't believe I can get the cleaner in the parts dip mode anymore here in Kalifornia. Plus I hate to take it apart and buy gaskets (even though they are blue). Would good old carb cleaner sprayed on them and toothbrush scrubbing work? WD40? The crevases will be tough to get into and clean without something softening/loosening up the grime. Thanks as always for the input. Kevin

i generally use brake cleaner on carbs...especially the outside
