What color goes around the fish?

On 66 Barracudas the trim between the back window and the trunk has a circle with the barracuda in it. This whole area is now just chrome. It seems like the circle was painted. Is this correct? If so, what color was it?

I had traces of blue on mine and I tried to match the color.

Mine is probably as close to NOS as you can get! The front emblem has a blue field!

I'll bet member "fishypete" could confirm this!!

I have the black around the outermost circle but I did have blue in the center where the barracuda swims. And that was originally there. Just saying

Thanks one and all for the quick answers!! Painting the outer ring won't be too much trouble. The blue around the Barracuda is going to be a different story.

I would still like to hear from Fishypete, he bought his car brand new and still has it! I don't believe the reliefs in the fins were painted black like the pictured piece from Classic Industries either!! I've never seen one painted that wasn't done by the owner!
