This block has no casting numbers and no vin pad. It does have numbers on the top pad. The numbers have not been ground off. So what is this thing?

looks liek a 440 BB thats what the #'s indicate

I know it's a 440, but why no casting number's or vin pad also the mounting ears are different then all the other blocks I have.

5T is 1975 year, 440 is engine size, E cast crank, HP is high performance,
3 14 is the build date. I'm guessing the cast date and the cast numbers have been groud off?

maybe the factory forgot and that block didnt have them on it?? who knows i guess

I'd bet it's a replacemnet/warrenty block.

So the next question is, What is it worth? It will need lined honed as when I got it there was no main caps.

What's it worth, sorry without at least the main caps zilch, at least that's what I'd pay for it. It is strange tho, it hasn't even got the cast in strengthing ribs above the core plug holes that are found in most post 70 blocks.

I gave a similar 440 away to a friend that had a set of main caps.

I figured with the amount of $'s required to line bore it, plus having to get a set of caps, it might be worth $50. Scrap value is worth about $20 max.

With the original caps, probably 125-150.
