What is missing here?

I'm looking to put this 904 transmission into my 74 Duster. Just in front of tail shaft there is an empty threaded hole. What is it for and what is missing?
A threaded plug, for band adjustment?

Yes, upon further investigation I found this to be true.
I apologize for being a dick, but
honestly whenever I see someone recommend looking in a service manual or downloading that Chrysler service stuff it just gives me a bad attitude.
