I Dont know slant castings but if that is open to the port it would be a very big vacuum leak.

Yeah it is a slant 6 225, I am also experiencing a exhaust leak could it be coming from their?

when you cover it up does the vacuum leak go away?

Classic test for finding a vacuum leak is to spray a little starter fluid with the engine running, if you get near the leak the engine will race a little as it sucks in the ether.
