what is the purpose for this hole?

I am dry fitting some things together and came across this just curious why its there if the aftermarket intake doesnt cover it?

Ignore it. It is a heat relief. It is supposed to be there.

ok I was worried it was somethin to do with the egr that isnt on the engine anymore...... haha

Naaaaa, your good to go. The EGR would pick up the gasses from the port below the crescent shape hole you showed.
