What is the weight of a 340

Hey guys,

I'm just starting to dig into my 340 Duster project. I have it all down to a bare block and need an engine stand. I'm currently on a bit of a budget so I was looking for a cheap engine stand. There are some for $40 or $50 buck but have a max of 1000lbs. Does anyone know the weight of a 340 when it's all ready to drop into a car? Just afraid as I'm building it up and it gets heavier the stand might fail.

Nothing to fear..... even a fully dressed Hemi does not get close to 1000 lbs.
 
But that stand will worry you; Harbor Freight has 2000# on sale a lot.
Or weld brace to the cheap one.
 
Engine weighs about 525 for a 340 without ex mans on it.
 
i tacoed the 1000lbs harbor freight stand with a 318 with no ex or int mans, or front drive gear
