Low priced GOOD aluminum head for street smallblock?

Yes they were well short of there posted numbers, but it's not real as accurate comparing between different benches.

yeah, i never expect numbers to be as good as they advertise anyway.. but sub 250 for "premium" heads seems bad.. I don't get why they put the effort in to make them and not improve them though.. we are a small segment compared to other brands but i don't think getting them a bit better woulda been that hard.. The SM's at $1000 a pair assembled is a no brainer for me.

I have known Brian forever and never heard a bad word about
his work or integrity. It is well worth the freight and the wait.

My Dad told me = You buy the Best, You only cry Once!

Buy once cry once

Buy nice or buy twice

how they do power wise ?
I am shocked to see the flow numbers posted. I had a set of iron 318b heads done with 2.02 intakes and bowl work only that went 270 on R&Rs ( Spring Lake Park MN) bench, which seems to be neither generous or stingy on several tests i know of.

I had a set of eddies that had some work done that went a little over 270, and showed it at the track.
Same kinda flow out of iron 318 heads with just bowl works seems “ optimistic”

I thought he meant EQ's isn't 318b part of there number ?

If so, that makes more sense.
Yes, and that 408 made 504 hp at 5700, 10.5 cr, Thumpr 235/249/107 hyd roller, on pumpgas. I used a an airgap dualplane, 850 carb, spacer, 15/8 to 13/4 step TTI headers. It was a riot in a 65 Dart!

If your short block has already been assembled, you’ll want to check your radial valve clearance to the valve relief. I was assembling a mild 340 with silvolite pistons (.014” protrusion) and the EQ 1.92” intake just interfered with the radial clearance of the valve relief in the piston.
