What is the Y generation?

What is Generation Y?
Hmm, I've always wondered this myself.
Now I know.

_The Silent generation, people born before 1946.
The Baby Boomers, people born between 1946 and 1959.
Generation X, people born between 1960 and 1979.
Generation Y, people born between 1980 and 1995.
Why do we call the last one generation Y? I did'nt know.

That's funny! Re: the Baby Boomers. I always thought the cut off date was more like '62-'63.

BTW: I have had many discussions with friends and family re: the term "Y-generation" and the meaning behind it and the only thing we could come up with is that whenever you tell them to do something (and instead of just doing it like in the good ol' days), they just stand there and ask, "Why?"
