What is this black box called?

It has a hose hooked up to it, but it’s not connected to anything. It hasn’t been hooked to anything since I got the car. The photo isn’t of my duster, but the circled box is the same and it’s in the same spot.

I thought these were exclusive to A.C. cars...and I thought yours was a non A.C.?

Mine doesn’t have AC. Should I just remove it?

Should yours have A.C. ?
Because if it's a relic from when your car had A.C. I could see you removing it
But if your car never had A.C., well then whoever added it may have had a reason to do so...radical cam perhaps?
