What pistol grip shifter works best??

I had an E-body pistol grip in a 65 Barracuda years ago and remember first gear being quite a stretch forward. Are any of you running a pistol grip currently and what body style are you using? I was thinking maybe a b-body (71-74 style) would work better since they're a little taller???

I used a pistol grip shifter in my 65 Cuda but don't remember what it came out of. But I do remember it was a stretch for first and third so I ovalled out the upper bolt hole to tip it back and welded the back side of hole in so it would stay where it was bolted.

i “think” a B Body with a bench seat is supposed to be the preferred pistol grip shifter for an A Body
