Just finished my 340 and I'm wondering what to expect. 30 over
Stock stroke 9.6 to 1 compressions
Stock forged crank
Silv o lite 10cc pistons
Purple shaft 508 cam 248 duration
1.6 crane gold roller rockers
Lob separation 108
Edelbrock aluminum heads 63cc
Air gap dual plane intake
Holley 750 double pumper
MSD ignition
4 speed
323 sure grip 8 3/4
1971 dodge demon
What's shoud I expect in the 1/4? I know 391 or 410 would be an upgrade but I do a lot of street and high way driving.

With the right tune 13.10-13.40's,with some slicks and 3.91's possible mid 12's...

If tuned well, I can see that engine combo easily in the 108mph range. With that said, it will really depend on tires/bite and driving skill. Right of the street with a stock suspension, worst case would be 14.0's with tire smoke or some other malfunction.....Best case, with good driving, clean shifting and some bite, I could see breaking the 13.0 barrier. Not by much, but I believe it's possible.

This original 340 engine in a 70' Duster went just over 103 mph with a stock converter, 3.23's and nothing but a .474" purple, 273 rockers, 780 Holley, sticky G60 tires, and my tune...:D. 13.80's with some traction issues early in the run's.

That car was a beast on the street from a 15/20 mph roll. I had a 69' Chevelle at the time that went high 12's. If I wasn't on my game.....this is what I saw out my window...

Should be a strong motor but gears don't seem to match your cam selection.

I was thinking mid 13. I plan on 391 gears and other changes later in hopes for high 12. Thanks for the input.
