Got these torq thrust wheels off a parts car I bought. 8.5 rear and narrow up front. I'm planning on using them on my 73 cuda project but they needed some work

I ended up using 1500 grit sand paper, followed by a lot of mother aluminum polish. I taped off the wheels and painted the center with graphite paint. I plan on running a flat aluminum center cap. Pics below

:prayer: They look great! Did you clear coat the polished part, or just leave it bare? I've go to do the same thing to some old ET slots.

No clear at all. Just sanded them with 1500 grit first with pb blaster(like wet sanding but with pb seemed to help). Then just a lot of hand polishing with mothers. All said and done I waxed them with car wax

Thanks everyone.. took me like 3 hours for the pair. I learned to put the rim on my tire balancer and hand spin it why I sanded or polished with the other hand

Very nicely dun and looks perfect
My shoulders and wrists would be on fire :happy1:
Elbow grease 8-) I wish I could put some in mine
Great job bringing them back to life :glasses7:

Nice job! They should look even better on the car with rubber on them.

Outstanding! All of your hard work paid off very nicely. Those will look great with tires and on a car.
And probably saved a bundle over a new set of wheels as well.

Thanks everyone. I was pretty impressed with how they come out. Never would have thought. It is nice I don't have much in them at all. Sold the block out of the car for 1000 so I have 600 bucks in a clean six pack, wheels, autometer gauges and the rest of the parts on the car. Hope to end up with the six pack and wheels for free.
